Communication Department Digital Book
Writing in Multimedia Communication, UCSB
This digital book is a product I created as a gift to the UCSB Communication Department. As you flip through the pages, you will notice my ability to create a strong, interesting layout with attention to style, color, font, and content. I wrote, designed, interviewed, and photographed all of the material included in this document.
SPOOM Brochure

This membership brochure for the Society for the Preservation of Old Mills (SPOOM), offers background information on the organization and informs interested readers on how to become an official member. Today, this brochure is being sold to historic mills around the country in order to help promote and grow the organization.
Travel Brochure
Marketing and Public Relations Writing, UCSB
This brochure serves as a standalone document meant to entice a particular demographic to purchase a travel package to Denver. Within the document, I provide information and photographs about the city of Denver, nightlife, hotel accommodations, dining options, and tour activites. Also included, is a daytime itinerary and information about tour price.
Event Invitation
"Rona Barrett's: Nothing But The Truth", PR Internship
Through my internship at SurfMedia Communications, I had the opportunity to design invitations for Rona Barrett's preview performances of "Rona Barrett's: Nothing But the Truth." Featured to the left is one of the invitation designs I created.
Product Brochure for Business Proposal
Economics and Business Writing, UCSB
This flier for Envy Cosmetics (see "Marketing Section of a Business Plan" under the writing tab) was designed to be handed out to potential customers. The flier provides information about the Envy Cosmetics brand, store location, hours of operation, and a link to the website. On the back of the flier (not shown) is a coupon for a 15% in-store discount.
Collage Project
Writing for New Media, UCSB
In this assignment, I created a collage of images representing my interpretation of a statistic, "In 2005, Americans spent nearly $12.2 billion on cosmetic surgery." By bringing together crude images of celebrities and highlighting the absurdity of the photos with bright, unnatural colors and distortion filters, I portray a paradox of the Hollywood lifestyle.
Textual Analysis
Writing for New Media, UCSB
Using web-based textual analysis software, I created several visualizations of Barack Obama's speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Wordle, the particular software I used for this sample, analyzes the number of times words are used throughout a text and signifies important, frequently used words by giving them larger font sizes.
